FORMULATION:
Each film-coated tablet contains:
- Levofloxacin hemihydrate 768.68 mg (equivalent to 750 mg Levofloxcin)
INDICATION AND USAGE:
Levofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibacterial with a wider spectrum of activity. It has been used in the treatment of a wide range of infections including lower respiratory tract infections, skin infections, typhoid and paratyphoid fever and urinary tract infections. Levofloxacin is also used in the prophylaxis of meningococcal meningitis and for surgical infections.
DOSAGE and ADMINISTRATION:
Usual adult dose: 250 mg to 500 mg once daily for 7 to 14 days or as prescribed by a physician. Doses of 750 mg once daily for 7 to 14 days may be used for complicated skin infections and for hospital-acquired pneumonia: a shorter course of 750 mg once daily for 5 days may be given for community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial sinusitis, complicated urinary tract infection and acute pyelonephritis. Doses should be reduced in patients with renal impairment. Or as prescribed by a physician.
